Megan Boone is exiting hit U.S. TV drama The Blacklist after eight seasons.

The show was recently renewed by network bosses at NBC for a ninth season, but the actress won't be back as Liz Keen.

Boone told producers she would be stepping down last year and Deadline sources claim her storyline will be wrapped up in the upcoming season eight finale.

Megan did not appear in eight episodes of the current season due to personal reasons.

James Spader, Diego Klattenhoff, and Harry Lennix are the only original cast members of the long-running show to return for season nine.

Boone has yet to comment on her decision.
