Matt Damon has sparked rumors he's joined the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder, after temporarily relocating to Australia alongside his family.

The Oscar-winning actor, who had a small role in Thor: Ragnarok as an Asgardian actor playing Tom Hiddleston's Loki in a play, told the Daily Mail that he, wife Luciana, and their daughters Isabella, 14, Gia, 12, and Stella, 10, have moved Down Under for a few months.

His announcement has fueled speculation that he'll either be reprising his role in the upcoming movie installment, or taking on a new part.

"I'm so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months," he said. "Australian film crews are world renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it."

Thor: Love And Thunder, which will see Matt's close friend Chris Hemsworth reprise his role as the God of Thunder, is scheduled to be released on 6 May, 2022.
