Harry Styles has been approached to play Boy George in a biopic about his life, according to the Culture Club star.

The Karma Chameleon hitmaker has confirmed producers are considering casting the former One Direction star as him in a new movie.

"I know that Harry is one of the people who has been approached or considered and I know that Harry is embarking on an acting career," George told talkRADIO. "I think producers did look at him. I don't know if it will actually happen.

"At the end of the day, acting is such a craft and I think it's very challenging to play someone like me, because I think most people have the complete wrong idea of who I am and what I am. And a lot of the stuff about me is weird mythical rubbish."

The Culture Club frontman previously expressed his excitement at being the subject of a movie about his life and suggested Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner could take on the lead role.

"There's been some really interesting suggestions," he said. "One of the most interesting suggestions was Sophie Turner. (People will say), 'She can't play you, she's a woman'… but when I was 17, I would have loved to have been her."
