Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel and Cameron Crowe marked the 20th anniversary of their movie Almost Famous on Sunday.
The 2000 American comedy-drama film starred Kate as Penny Lane, with the now 41-year-old actress celebrating 20 years since the movie’s premiere by sharing a throwback still on her Instagram page and writing: “20 years today #AlmostFamous.”
Zooey, who played Anita Miller in the film, also shared a snap from the movie as she wrote: “20 years of Almost Famous!”
And director Crowe posted a black and white picture of himself, Kate and what appeared to be Billy Crudup, and wrote: “Thanks to everybody for this wonderful 20th Anniversary for Almost Famous!! I’ll always remember this moment, just after the last shot in Central Park. With love and huge appreciation for the cast and crew and all our friends.”
It was revealed earlier this year that Brad Pitt had originally been up for the role of Russell Hammond, eventually taken on by Crudup, with Crowe explaining: “I knew that he had never fully fallen in love with the character. He had fallen in love with the idea of the character, but maybe there just wasn’t enough on the page.”
