ABC officials have confirmed a third Black-ish spin-off – Old-ish – is in the works.

Bosses at the network are working with creator Kenya Barris on the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which is set to follow Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis reprising their roles as Dre's parents Earl "Pops" Johnson and Ruby Johnson.

A plot description teases Old-ish will, "will follow Ruby and Earl as they give love a second chance. When they move to a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood of L.A., they'll meet characters who represent the old and new faces of the community as they try to make it work as a married couple. Again."

Laurence has been a recurring character on the show from the beginning, while Jenifer was promoted from recurring to series regular in season two. They play the parents of Anthony Anderson's character Dre.

Old-ish will be the fourth installment in the franchise – Black-ish premiered in 2014 on ABC, Grown-ish premiered in 2018 on Freeform, and Mixed-ish premiered in 2019 on ABC.
