Chris Hemsworth has teased he's set to gain a huge amount of muscle to play wrestling icon Hulk Hogan in a new biopic.

The Thor star is well-known for his impressive physique while playing the Norse god in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.

In a new interview with Total Film, Hemsworth revealed his upcoming role as WWE Hall of Famer in the forthcoming biopic, The Hulkster, will see him undergo an even bigger transformation.

"This movie is going to be a really fun project," he told the publication. "As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor. There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude."

He continued: "I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I'm really looking forward to doing," adding that he'll have to dye his hair blonde, plus go a little bald, and add a mustache to complete Hogan's trademark look.

The movie, which will be directed by Todd Phillips of The Joker fame, and penned by Scott Silver, was first announced last February. Netflix holds the exclusive rights to its release.

It will chronicle Hogan's rise to the top of the wrestling world in the 1980s, which will cover the explosion of Hulkamania in the WWF during the Rock 'n' Wrestling Era.

The 12-time wrestling world champion who also had acting and reality TV stints, will act as an executive producer on the project.
