Pop superstar Shakira is hoping to emerge from coronavirus self-isolation with a new school certification after enrolling in an online ancient philosophy course.

The Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker has been holed up with her longtime boyfriend, soccer star Gerard Pique, and their two young sons at home in Spain, where residents are currently on a national lockdown to try and slow the spread of COVID-19.

However, Shakira wants to make the most of the unexpected downtime, so she’s started an online course from America’s University of Pennsylvania.

FC Barcelona defender Pique shared a short video clip of Shakira studying at her desk on Friday, and teased his love, writing, “Studying philosophy! Smart a**! #stayhome”.

The musician reposted the footage on her Instagram page and explained to fans she needed something intellectual to focus on after tuning into kids’ cartoon series Paw Patrol to keep Milan, seven, and Sasha, five, entertained.

“Just (began an) ancient philosophy course at @uofpenn to make the confinement productive,” she wrote. “I have to be able to think about other things rather than Paw Patrol!!”
