Orlando Bloom spared no expense when he proposed to Katy Perry, popping the question with a huge $5 million ring.
The California Gurls hitmaker announced the pair’s engagement on Instagram alongside a snap of her with Orlando, with the singer showing off her new jewellery.
Katy captioned the image, which showed her cuddling up to her beau, simply: “Full bloom.” While the British actor later shared the same picture, captioning it: “Lifetimes.”
And according to E! News, the four-carat pink oval shaped diamond, surrounded by eight white diamonds around it to assemble a flower ‘in bloom’, is incredibly valuable and is worth more than $5 million.
The Lord of the Rings star popped the question to the Roar hitmaker at a Valentine’s themed party in front of their family and friends, British newspaper The Sun reports.
Katy, 34, was “totally shocked” as she walked into a candlelit room filled with red heart balloons and her friends wearing ‘OK’ initial hoodies to celebrate the couple’s love.
The 42-year-old actor previously asked both Katy’s parents ” Mary and Keith Hudson ” for their daughter’s hand in marriage.
Around 30 of the singer’s closest friends and family members gathered at a private penthouse in Los Angeles, with the room decorated in red roses and heart balloons.
An over-excited Mary broke the news of the engagement on Facebook, sharing images of the emotional proposal and captioning them, “Look who got engaged on Valentine’s Day!” The blurry photos show Katy and Orlando under a heart-shaped arch made of balloons, as well as another snap of her daughter’s stunning pink diamond ring.
Katy was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, while Orlando was married to Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, with whom he shares son Flynn, from 2010 until 2013.
