The chances of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex making a guest appearance in her old TV show Suits are “close to zero”, according to its creator Aaron Korsh.

It was announced earlier this month that the legal drama would be ending with a 10-episode ninth season, and many fans were left hoping that Meghan, who quit the show after becoming engaged to British royal Prince Harry in late 2017, would make a brief comeback as character Rachel Zane as the series bowed out.

However, Korsch admitted during the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour in Los Angeles on Tuesday that the likelihood of her returning is slim because the creative team haven’t approached Meghan, who quit acting to pursue her royal duties, about taking time out of her new life in England.

“I would love it, but I think it’s pretty close to zero,” he said of the odds of her coming back. “We’re not currently asking Meghan Markle to leave her position with the royal family and join us.”

He later told Deadline that it was out of respect for her new royal duties, saying, “We love her, we wish her well but I don’t think that’s happening.”

Meghan left the show after seven seasons alongside her onscreen love interest Patrick J. Adams, and Korsch said he could possibly reprise his character Mike Ross in upcoming Suits spin-off Pearson.

“I had discussed with Patrick, when he left, the possibility of coming back and we both decided if the time was right and he was up for it and if he had time, that he would do it,” he explained. “We’re just starting our writers’ room… So I don’t know yet.”

Meghan’s Suits co-stars, including Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht and Gina Torres, attended her royal wedding at Windsor Castle in England in May, and Korsch said the day was “unbelievable” and “changed our lives in certain ways forever.”

Meghan and Harry are currently expecting their first child together.
